The most common cancer in the United States is skin cancer.

“Over 120,000 people pass away due to skin cancer each year. In the 120,000 lives claimed each year, nearly 60,000 deaths are from Melanoma and around 60,000 to 70,000 from non-melanoma skin cancers. The five-year survival rate for basal and squamous cell carcinoma, the two most common types of nonmelanoma skin cancers, is 98% to 100% if detected early. The survival rate for malignant melanomas, the most dangerous type, is more than 99% if discovered before metastasis. The average five-year survival rate for all stages of malignant melanomas is around 95%.

Early-stage skin cancer often looks like small blemishes, dry patches, or even a new mole. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with an estimated 6.1 million adults treated annually. More than 9,500 people are newly diagnosed every 24 hours.
